The Area of Influence (also known as the action range or in-scanner as the range circle) is the area that the Agent can interact with in-scanner objects. It is represented by the orange circle surrounding the Agent on the Scanner-screen. The Area of Influence has a radius of 40 meters.
When a Portal is within the Area of Influence, an Agent can hack the Portal, deploy or upgrade Resonators 
, add mods, and recharge Resonators without the Portal Key 
.
The Scanner will also automatically pick up Exotic Matter (XM) in the Area of Influence if the XM bar is not full.
Agents can pick up dropped items within their Area of Influence.
