Key Lockers (also known as "Key Capsules") are Capsule -like items that can be used to store only Portal Keys . Each Key Locker can store up to one hundred (100) Portal Keys each, and any Portal Keys inside do not count toward the inventory Cap. Just like Capsules , they have a unique identifier, and can be renamed for sorting. This means an Agent can hold up to five hundred (500) Portal Keys outside their inventory. The Key Locker is the only item in Ingress where items placed inside do not count toward the Inventory Cap.
There are five purchasable Key Locker : a White, Yellow, Red, Green and Blue Key Locker. Each Key Locker is purchasable for 3 700 CMU each, or an Agent can purchase all five for 14 900 CMU.
A special sixth Key Locker was given out during the fifth anniversary of Ingress[1]. It can also be purchased during the #FieldArt Challenge.
Key Locker cannot be recycled, dropped or shared, since it is a Premium item. Agents can purchase the same colored Key Locker multiple times, as long as the Agent does not already have five Key Locker in their inventory. This means an Agent could buy five Yellow Key Locker .

Strategy
Even though the Key Locker is only limited to holding Portal Keys , it still can play a huge role in inventory management and storage, proving a high value for Agents.
- Agents who frequently plan Control Fields Δ can store Portal Keys in the Key Locker until it is time to field.
- Agents can store unused Portal Keys inside Key Locker , especially ones that serve as a memento.
- Agents can hide Portal Keys away to avoid throwing Links that will mess up a plan. (A Key Locker is not strictly necessary for this since regular Capsules also hide stored Portal Keys from the linking screen)
- Quickly store away Portal Keys to make space for more items when on a hacking spree.
