Ingress Wiki

Medals (also called Badges) are awarded to agents as they reach set milestones.

There are 5 tiers of each medal available: Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Onyx (Black). Each tier requires more and more work than the previous.

An Assortment of Medals

Achieving Access Levels[]

Main article: Access Level

Medals are needed to achieve Agent Access Levels L9-L16. Typically acquiring sufficient Gold medals for Levels L11-L13 is the hardest part.

The Agent Stats website (agent-stats.com) can predict, based on your recent activity, when you will achieve the next tiered medals, and also when you might level up.

Special Medal Types[]

One Time Medals[]

These medals can only be gained by Agents playing during specific times. They have no tiers and cannot be used to level up.

Founder-medal.png

Founder-medal is a special medal awarded to Agents that were supporting Ingress from early on. This medal does not have tiers like the others but is something that every Agent is displaying proudly on their profiles. The Founder-medal was only achievable on the 14. December 2013 and only for Agents that were L5+.

Verified-medal.png

Verified-medal is a special medal awarded to Agents that verified their account via e-mail. This verification needed to occur upon hitting Level 2, as the interface would stop collecting XM and the inventory would be limited to 100 items. As of September 2015, verification was permanently removed from Ingress and the item cap is currently 2 000 for all Agent levels.

Simulacrum-medal.png

Simulacrum-medal is a special medal awarded to recursed Agents. The Simulacrum medal was achievable since the 06. November 2018 along with the introduction of recursion feature.

C.O.R.E-medal.png

C.O.R.E.-medal is a special medal awarded to Agents who has subscribed at least once to the C.O.R.E. membership. Earnable since 05. February 2021, it is only earned once, even if the Agent has subscribed for multiple months.

Event Medals[]

Participation in Anomalies will grant the Agent a medal representing the Anomaly they have participated.

Participation in Mission Day, NL-1331 and First Saturday-events will earn the medal(s). These medals have the standard tiers earned by the number of events attended. Their tier does not apply to attended events before the introduction of the medals.

Character Medals[]

Medals depicting Ingress storyline characters are acquired when purchasing a Rare or Very Rare "swag pack" when attending an Anomaly.

Limited Edition Badges[]

Limited Edition badges that can only be obtained on the Ingress in-scanner Store for a limited time.
