Recursion (to recurse) is a process where the Agent "resets" their Scanner, and can again choose the faction they will be part of (Faction Change). Recursion is available once Agents reach L16.
Recursed Agents have an icon next to their name
Recursed Agents will have wings ( 
) displayed next to their name in Ingress Prime; they are given the Simulacrum-medal and their profile page will display their Lifetime AP gained. If an recursed Agent is an active C.O.R.E. member, the recursion wings are replaced with a red C.O.R.E. shield ( 
).
Pro Tip: Just before recursing, use a Hypercube. After Recursion, you will retain your secondary tank of 52 800 XM, making the first few Levels easier to achieve.
Recursion Process[]
Scrolling to the bottom of your agent profile will bring you to the Recurse button, which will then bring you through several confirmation pages, finally leading to a four-hour countdown timer after which you can confirm your choice and complete the reset.
Recursion Effects[]
- Agents will revert to Level 1, with 0 AP.
- They lose access to certain leveled items until they reach that level again.
- Their Scanner's internal XM tank capacity reverts to the 3 000 XM of L1 Agents.
- Hacking acquires items at their level, starting at L1.
- Agents can now earn multiples of Onyx-medals giving them "Wings".
- They earn the Simulacrum-medal.
Retained L16 Benefits[]
- Niantic Wayfarer access is retained, and Agents can still Scan, edit and Nominate Portals.
- Recharging distance is retained.
- Agents keep their inventory during recursion.
- Mission progress is kept, and all medals are kept.
- Anniversary-medals earned in the future will be Onyx.
