Ultra Strikes are a type of exotic matter pulse weapon that cause intense, focused blast damage at a point (unlike the XMP Burster which causes moderate, wide-spread damage). While they are listed as "very common," they do not drop as often as XMP Bursters.
Usage
Ultra strikes are designed to destroy portal mods such as shields and turrets. They have a very limited range, and are best utilized when standing directly on top of the portal itself. If all resonators of a portal are placed at a greater distance, the use of an ultra strike exactly on top of the portal does not generate a zap by that portal. If resonators of a nearby portal are triggered, this portal will zap though.
Pressing and holding until the particle ring shrinks to the agent will deal additional damage based on the final radius. Up to an additional 20% damage.
Damage and Range
There are 8 levels of Ultra Strike, every level has a different range and damage. The Ultra Strike lower the energy levels of resonators in range following this scheme:
Level | Damage* | Range |
---|---|---|
L1 | 150 XM | 10 m |
L2 | 300 XM | 13 m |
L3 | 500 XM | 16 m |
L4 | 900 XM | 18 m |
L5 | 1200 XM | 21 m |
L6 | 1500 XM | 24 m |
L7 | 1800 XM | 27 m |
L8 | 2700 XM | 30 m |
*Maximum damage values. Actual damage depends on distance and mods.
